What happens in Vegas, deserves a blog!

Wow, Vegas was FANTASTIC! One of my coworkers invited me to come to Vegas with her and a bunch of her friends. I ended up inviting several of my friends and barely saw my friend from work. It was still great.

Me, Rach and Mer in front of the ship for the show "Sirens of TI." This was the first night.

Treasure Island, the hotel that we stayed in the first three nights. Our first shot of the weekend. We were playing video poker at the bar and the bartender was apparently trying to get us intoxicated.

First night out.

The little bit of time we spent with Rhiannon.

We spent a lot of time by the pool during the day.

At night we enjoyed the night life of Vegas. I always love to go out and shake the booty, but this was way fun. I had someone ask me if I got married when I was wearing that dress. I was definitely dancing with a stranger at that point.

We had a good time getting all dolled up.

This guy looked like this a lot. I think it might have something to do with that almost empty bottle of SoCo sitting next to him.

Toby Keith's I Love This Bar was a great time. I for sure needed to have a drink out of a Mason jar there. If you don't know the song you should listen to it. They had a live band that was quite good.

The bartenders in Vegas are excellent. I'm not talking about how they mix drinks, which is also very good, but more how they serve them. It is almost like going to a show. Flippy was the man balancing all those bottles on his head.

Ash wearing my sunglasses.

Ash breaking my heart with that wedding ring.

We don't drink alcohol.

Mig mixing it up.

Mig, you are the only bartender on this side of the bar that I haven't taken a picture with.

The gun show.

We were having so much fun we decided to stay an extra day. There were three different conventions going on and so we ended up staying in the nicest place ever. This is the view from our balcony.
Seriously super nice.

Kitchen in our hotel room.

Wow, good times.

Hey, my mom was here.

I thought I would post a few pictures of what I did with my mom when she was here. My cousin bought a house and we spent several days helping them paint and make it their own.

We painted one wall brown in the great room. There is also a pink accent wall in the den.

The biggest task was the dining room and kitchen. There are stripes along that entire wall. I think it turned out very nice. We also painted the nursery. The walls are a light green and the ceiling is blue with clouds on it. They are decorating with Pooh. Congrats on the baby! He or she is due in February I think.

Starting over

So, to all who were wondering: this is the deal with the house. We are starting over. We are not going to get the speck home with all the upgrades. Instead, we are going to wait, save our money and pay for upgrades. We are getting the same home and floor plan on a different lot that will be completed in January or February. This means that we will not be able to get as many of the nice things, but our payment will be reasonable and we have time to save and put more money down. The lot that we now have is bigger. This is both good and bad. Good because a bigger lot is better for resale, not so good because landscaping is going to be a little more expensive. And, I don't know anything about landscaping, especially in AZ. One fun thing about starting over is that we get to see the house come up from the VERY beginning. Here is a picture of our dirt. The pink lines are approximately our lot. The back fence is at an angle so the fence is deeper on the left side than the right.
